When Hal and pseudonymous Satoshi's collaboration births Bitcoin — an unstoppable idea is etched in code. On another time chain, as Hal is cryopreserved, a pact rewrites everything.

SYNOPSIS

The movie explores the profound friendship between Hal Finney and Satoshi Nakamoto, with the help of some legendary cypherpunks, privacy warriors and many rebels.

Co-written over decades with the very collaborators who helped build it. SATOSHI tells bitcoin’s origin story, one of code, collaboration, perseverance, and the fight for financial freedom.

Anchored in mission over identity, this scripted story shifts the mystery from the question of who is Satoshi to why Satoshi?

CAST

SATOSHI will co-star Casper Van Dien as the late Hal Finney alongside Peter Shinkoda as the enigmatic Satoshi Nakamoto.

Hal is considered the "Tom Hanks of crypto." It’s only fitting that Casper Van Dien reprise the role of the beloved genius, Hal. Many young enough remember Casper's breakthrough role was as Johnny Rico, the lead in Paul Verhoeven's sci-fi film Starship Troopers (1997). Casper has made cult-loved stories across many genres including: Tarzan in Tarzan and the Lost City (1998), Brom in Sleepy Hollow (1999), Amok in Alita: Battle Angel (2019), Harold in All American (2018-2023), Starship Troopers: Extermination (2024) Starship Troopers Traitor of Mars (2017), Call of Duty Black Ops (2018), Luke in Guns of Redemption (2025), and Matt in the upcoming Manhattan Transfer (2025).

Peter Shinkoda will reprise the role of the enigmatic and elusive Satoshi Nakamoto. Peter is most well known for his portrayals of Dai in Steven Spielberg's Falling Skies (2011), Nobu in Marvel's Daredevil (2015) and as Kazu Hirano in The Man in the High Castle (2019). Peter's credits include: Dr. Yamada in The Predator (2018), Fujibayashi Nagato in Assassin's Creed: Shadows (2025), Lt. Col. Ito in Prisoner of War (2025). 'Peter has also worked as an editor on Hollywood features such as Romeo Must Die, Rat Race and Freddy Got Fingered.

An extended cast will reprise the roles of legendary cypherpunk legends and freedom warriors who were interviewed during our fact-checking process including: Wei Dai (b-money), Nick Szabo (Bit Gold), Tim May, John Gilmore, Jude Milhon (St Jude), Romana Machado (Cypherella), trans-humanists Max Moore, Natasha Vita-More, early Bitcoin investor Roger Ver, and Pretty Good Privacy Founder Phil Zimmermann.
